Over the weekend we decided to go on a road trip. We took a drive up through the mountains around Palisades Reservoir, took a quick look at Lava Hot Springs, and made our way back home.
We saw a field off to the side of the road that had hundreds of elk. We were told that you could feed the elk but we just decided to look at them from a distance.
This is a picture that I took as we were winding through all of the trees. The girls wanted to know why I was taking a picture of the road. They obviously were not into looking at the scenery.
The kids just chilling out in the backseat.
We had a great time over the weekend. I just wish I had taken more pictures.

I love that you're checking out the Idaho countryside. It's pretty in the winter and beautiful in the summer. I really think you will like it. I'm guessing Seth is a real outdoorsy type and will really fall in love with what Idaho has to offer. Nephi climbed on our roof today and shoveled our roof off. Darn, I should've taken our picture. The folks down south would think that was crazy.... See ya!!

Good times. Weekend road trips are the best. I can't wait for our next little trip. Mom and Dad are coming up on Saturday to see Aunt Anne and then they're going to stay at our house. You guys are invited down if you want to come hang out.
Bruce is totally jealous of the Elk field. He would love Idaho. Isn't Cori from Lava Hot Springs? My dad grew up there somewhere too. Blackfoot maybe? Anyways, when I read Lava Hot Springs I could hear the way Cori would say it, the "a" like in 'back' or 'and' whereas I say it like it is in spanish... 'ah' like at the doctors office. It cracks me up every time I think of it and I don't know why. I know, I'm a nerd.
